He has had surgeries and understands the challenges along with having bad arthritis in his hands from shooting full house magnums in revolvers for years and years 

Not really a fan of the ones I’ve got, this is expensive but it seems to be the best that’s available & won’t look out of place on a old retired guy with more hair on his face than his head 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm craving chicken and dumplings. I've never followed a recipe for it, I've been cooking for 55 years and started in my mom's restaurant. This recipe has me intrigued, basically making a cream of chicken soup. My method never used cream or milk in the broth. Well. I'm going to try it this way, sort of. I plan on adding frozen mixed vegetables like a pot pie. The dumplings are pretty much the way I've always made them. I just simmered 3 lbs of thighs and put that in the fridge to make it easier to strip them tomorrow. I figure I'll go light on the flour and have a roux ( how do you spell that?) handy for thickening towards the end to reduce the chances of scorching.
I'll report back Saturday with more details. The way I do stuff, it might well turn into a chocolate cake!

I recently learned about working split for pileups.  J38r was working split (duplex) from a dxpedition on an island near Granada. He was transmitting on 28.440 and listening between 5 and 15 kilohertz up. I managed to sort of get him but he couldn't copy well enough to count as a contact. After an hour I gave up and called my neighbor and walked him through setting his radio for working split. My neighbor was able to set his radio up for this but had no luck making the contact either.
He had never done this before and if nothing else, it felt good to teach him what I've learned.
So much for my knowledge of geography. Grenada is the island. For some reason I thought it was on the mainland.

Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month.

My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

The only reason I would take up walking is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die, they'll say, 'Well, he looks good doesn't he.'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years, just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Every time I start thinking too much about how I look, I just find a Happy Hour and by the time I leave, I look just fine.
