Unread posts - specops56 - 10-24-2025

This site is getting weird.

15 Posts from 2024 were listed as unread posts this morning. There were no new replies to them but every reply was lmarked as unread. I wasted my time going through them all thinking they might have been resurrected.

Im thinking the site is getting hit by spammers and the posts are being removed but the unread marker is being applied to the OP because of the spam comment.

What he's saying is that a spammer might've posted his garbage bringing the thread to the top. When the spam is deleted maybe the thread would still be at the top. I don't think it works that way but maybe it does. I looked at the moderator control panel and Olfart was the last person to play spamo-blamo and that was on the 22nd.

Sidebar, any idea about Norfolk navy base, might shift gears and hit the navy base. I understand you can see ships and subs & would love to see a bunch of navy boats & having wonderful seafood

Sorry for the delay. When I was in, you could get a visitors pass to come on base. You could go too some of the piers and see the surface vessels but you weren't going anywhere near the subs. You could look at the ships from the pier but not go aboard. That was in the 70s and 80s. I don't know about now.

Is there any way to delete the 91 ancient posts from the unread post notice without having to do them individually?

Mine are always current. If it indicates 8, that's what's visible and nothing more. I then go to Content > mark all read. The count then goes to zero. This is on a laptop.
