It would be a lot better is he would eliminate the F part completely. Nothing he does short of that will last past the next presidential election. Not gonna hold my breath on that one.

"Such a decrease would limit the ATF's ability to assist federal, state and local law enforcement from analyzing key ballistic evidence that is often vital to solving homicides and other gun-related crimes."
It would shock them to learn that ATF pushes all firemarms ballistics analysis to the FBI. Their explosives team is also second rate and is frequently forced to get the FBI to assist in their explosive investigations. Why? Because the ATF isn't really interested in solving crimes and hasn't been since obama administration. What they are good at is making firearms manudacturers and dealers go out of business for innocuous bullshit like undotted i's and uncrossed t's.
Seriously, Trump should force them to go back to the old 4473 so they cannot use their high speed scanners to create an illegal firearms registry and absolutely shut them off from receiving firearms purchase information on a daily basis in exchange for "more lenient" enforcement actions.

I was surprised the last handgun i purchased it was all done on a IPad and no physical 4473, was like WTF…..but it’s how the dealer does it (small chain farm & ranch store)
