For some reason, we don’t know why, he just howled once and fell over dead. I can’t describe how devastated we are. He was only 3 years old. We’ve lost him exactly 364 days after we lost little Pumpkinhead last year. He’s the third one we’ve lost since they were born in 2003.

I just got my first pay stub and they didn't pay me what they quoted me in the job offer. Instead they paid me a lump sum for the position that works out to $16.81 per hour. And then the 1/2 hour of overtime they paid at a rate of $8.30/ hour. 

Not paying what the offer said is one thing, it is a shyster way to do business, certainly unethical but maybe not illegal.  But paying less than 1/2 the hourly rate for overtime is absolutely illegal on both the state and Federal levels. I'm kind of pissed about that and would really like to jam it up their asses but need to line up a new job before I go nuclear with it.

So what say the group? Any way you see this as being something I shouldn't go talk to an attorney about?]]>

I have trained and practiced with a number of home/self defense weapons of the long gun and hand gun varieties. But because I don’t live in a ‘dangerous’ place (more than once Chicago’s Finest have collected 9 mm casings in the alley behind my sister’s house) I have never found the need to brandish said weapons outside of a shooting range setting.

So, I never thought of the issue of hearing protection because I’m always wearing it at the range -until someone here mentioned it. If ANY sort of firearm is discharged in the hallway of a house, my hearing is likely to be totally disabled for some time. What if there was a pair of ‘active’ suppression shooting muffs stored conveniently along with the weapons?

Stop selling Canadian oil to the states, they will run out of oil then and on and on 

Gas was $1.85/9 a liter out east & we paid $163/9 liter today 

I was told they pay .50 cents per liter federal tax, then .17 cents a liter provincial tax & then you have local taxes of a few cents 

Canadians we have talked to don’t understand how little Americans care about Canada as it’s nothing down south like it is up here 

Oh and some bridge opening really has Canadians would up as Trump…but I don’t remember what and why

He had some kind of deteriorating nerve condition along the lines of ALS in humans 

Sine then he bonded with the wife who took over feeding him & the daughter as she spoiled him rotten 

Got to the point he could not walk 20 feet & was stumbling and falling 

The Vet came to the house….he was laying in his favourite spot with his head on the daughters lap…..she had just fed him his favourite people food McDonald’s hamburger & chicken nuggets 

He passed peacefully and hopefully at rest now

Spend almost a hour a week in the gym on the county fire department and after that….nope, not been in a gym since 2005 😬😬😬😬😬

In the rehab hospital I did enjoy the recumbent bike and resistance machine and drove the physical therapists crazy pushing so hard but never followed up with it 

Now I’m planning on starting out 3 days a week for 30 mins and working up to 1 hour and who knows from there 

Will be strange going on base to the gym as it’s full of military so we shall see if we stay on base or find a gym off base. On base is “free” just not sure what all they have as far as resistance machines so we shall see……

Trying the muscle supplements thing to help with building muscle since us old folks loose muscle mass and struggle to maintain & build it 

Protein 1-2 hours before going, hydration during (salts & minerals) & specially formulated recovery/repair muscle post workout and then a “snack” or meal replacement protein bar. Everything is low/zero carbs & zero sugars ]]>
