Church invasion in St. Paul

I listened to Hannity today and there's a couple of statutes that fit, both dealing with denial of 1st amendment rights.
On top of criminal charges, it struck me that Don Lemon publicly called the church a white supremacist congregation. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn, but since Lemon is a public figure but the congregants aren't, they should be able to push a civil suit for slander as well. Just my layman's opinion. I'm not edjumicated but I am an autodidactic.
