RE: S&W 629 Mountain Gun - The Shooters Apprentice - 11-30-2025

I currently have 4 mountain guns. A first run hard chromed Mountain revolver 44 mag, a 25-13 45 colt and two of the new ones, a 10mm and a 44 mag. The 45 colt is blued and probably my favorite D/A sixgun. Ive been debating cutting down the barrel on my 2nd model hand ejector 44 that is a 6.5" to make a 4" gun that would be just about like a Mt gun with fixed sights.

I'm a function over form guy, but there's something about those grips that catches my eye.

The stocks that came on it are without question excellent stocks & fit the hand very well

I had the chance to purchase these grips prior to seeing the 629 in person but I jumped on them & then found someone to lightly checker them & it took 8ish months from buying them to finally getting them on the gun

They are made for round butt N frame and actually could be tweaked a tad for this N frame as it’s not quite exactly the normal N frame
