This is a brilliant move, maybe not 4D chess but at least chess. A lot of base commanding officers are decidedly anti-gun. This will without a doubt get a lot of them pushing back and shortly after fired.
And the left is saying that it won't make a difference because many states prohibit those under 21 from possessing a handgun. But every state that does that has an exemption for active duty soldiers even on the parts of some bases that fall under local jurisdiction instead of Federal jurisdiction.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out
Reagan started shit & daddy bush in 92 put the screws to this & Clinton finished it off….
Hegseth had to have Trumps blessing to do this
But Trump is anti 2A Just for the he’ll of it, I posted this on Hegseth’s facebook page. Do not expect a response or for him to even see it, but I tilt at windmills What about retiree’s? We were planning a trip to DC this summer for the 250th birthday. Had reservations on a military base in lodging but I was told no firearms so I called the installation police asking about storing firearm in an armory and was told nope, that is not an option. I’m not driving 2,500 miles without my legal firearm. I even have retired LEOSA credentials and can legally carry in DC yet I’m not allowed to have a firearm in IHG managed lodging. |
