I have a Mossberg 500 that just sits here loaded and doesn't get used. The old magazine spring was very weak so I ordered an extra power one from Wolfe. Evidently, the factory used loctite on the magazine tube, I had to use heat to unscrew it.
As long as I was that far into it, I stripped it and gave it a thorough cleaning followed by oil and 0 weight grease in the appropriate places, much smoother now. All went well until putting the mag tube back in. I must've fiddled with that for fifteen minutes, the spring kept trying to escape. I finally got it back together so all is good. Hopefully those 3" #4 buckshot loads die of old age.
