[FPC News] FPC Statement on Media Rumors of DOJ Policy Discussions Regarding Potenti

LAS VEGAS (September 5, 2025) — Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) issued the following statement regarding recent media reports suggesting that Department of Justice (DOJ) officials may be considering policies to restrict the right of entire classes of people to keep and bear arms:

While I oppose ANY restrictions on our rights whatsoever, I do wonder if this is political chess, not checkers. If this administration pushes to restrict transgender folks from owning firearms, the far left will find itself in a rather strange position. They'll either have to abandon their darling LGBTQ etc constituency in the name of some kind of gun control win, or they'll face the strange task of suing the federal government to block any infringement of gun rights, thus being in the strange position of defending everyone's right to bear arms. Either they'll destroy the LGBTQ cause, or more likely, spend many millions to force court rulings arguing FOR the RKBA, hopefully setting groundbreaking case law for all. I'm not sure there's a way that the administration could be in a losing situation.

The left have been trying to ban guns for EVERYBODY for decades. At no time have they ever suggested "lets exempt transgenders". They don't give a rat's ass about trans people. They're just more useful idiots. They would be happy to trade a ban on trans for a ban on "assault" rifles". If Trump is willing to infringe the rights of one class of people then he's willing to infringe YOURS if it gets him what he wants.

You may be right my friend. I have zero evidence for my idea, it was just a hunch based on how this administration uses somewhat unpopular announcements to achieve an entirely different goal.

I'm torn on this one. On one hand, I'm afraid of the slippery slope but it seems quite a number of the latest mass shootings have been perpetrated by trannys. It's my belief that all the promotion of transexual stuff ("Look at how brave he she is, isn't it wonderful!", etc.) is attracting unstable folks who want to be praised. When they don't get the results they desire it pushes them further to the dark side.
On the slippery slope side, there are woke psychiatrists who feel a desire to own firearms is a sign of mental illness. We could all be in jeopardy given that viewpoint.
