Old VS Old Bourbon Taste-Off:Round 1- Part 1 - Old Crow VS Old Grand-Dad!

Bottom Line: Old Grand-Dad: John got vanilla & oak and I got the oak on the nose with no burn.Lightly sweet and spicy followed by oak and vanilla. Well balanced with very light burn. Old Crow: No burn on the nose. My first sip was bland. Sweetness up front with oak at the end. Winner: Old Grand-Dad!!

Well, the deed is done.

In the spring we bought 6 chicks from the “egg” side at Blains Farm & Fleet. My daughter wanted 4 and I warned her she would lose some so better get extras. All six survived. But one of the hens decided to grow a comb and start crowing. Dubuque, being the Iowa town it is, doesn’t allow hens that identify as roosters. So, with waiting for him to grow, and having a busy schedule, it finally came to a head today. Well, actually, it was more like him losing his head today, you know?
