any hams interested in a sked?

I want to get a setup. 
But since I'm a newbie, I have no idea what all's needed.  I think I'd like a home based setup.  But one that will work and allow me to add items to make it better. 
If that makes sense.

I'm still antenna-less. Too old to climb my tower, guy cables too rusty to trust lowering it. I've been thinking about a vertical like a Hustler 5BTV. It would cover all the bands I can handle on my old Kenwood TS430S, and I could put it up just 50' from my shack window.
