Local AF base went to FPC Charlie, no idea when or why, I was denied access to the base due to the change. Only military and dependents are allowed on base
No idea if it’s a exercise or real world change, could not find anything out and don’t see anything on line
I’m stumped 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I'm not a fan of AI but this popped up when I searched the issue.....would this be why????
Reasons for Restricted Access at Air Force Bases
Current World Situation
Air Force bases are implementing updated access procedures to enhance safety and security. These changes are in response to guidance from U.S. Northern Command, reflecting concerns about the current world situation.
Key Measures Implemented
The following measures have been put in place to restrict access:
Suspension of the Trusted Traveler Program: This program, which allowed military personnel and authorized civilians to bring guests onto bases, has been suspended. All visitors without a Department of Defense (DoD) ID must now obtain a sponsored access pass.
Mandatory Background Checks: All visitors are required to undergo a criminal background check before being granted access to the base.
Increased Security Checks: There are 100% identification checks at all gates, leading to longer wait times for entry.
Closure of Certain Areas: Specific areas, such as the Santa Fe Trail on the installation, have been closed until further notice.
Continued Operations
Despite these restrictions, essential operations, including athletic events and medical services, continue for those with approved access. The measures are designed to protect personnel, facilities, and the overall security of the installation.
Apparently a AF base had a bomb threat that actually had a device
Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora Colorado had somebody jump the fence & start a large grass fire. Buckley is the only base in the world that does what they do
I’ve seen a couple other incidents at AF bases to include Andrews AFB where multiple drones over flew the base and defenses were inadequate
Have not heard anything locally &
FPCON Charlie applies when an incident occurs or intelligence is received indicating that some form of terrorist action or targeting against DoD personnel or facilities is likely.
Oh the trusted traveler program here at this base has been suspended for over a year it seems and they have been doing 100% ID checks for as long as I can remember
I lost my retiree ID card, the wife had to escort me/vouch for me and I needed 2 other forms of ID and had to pass a background check at the visitor center before they issued me. 24 hr pass & the wife was to accompany me at all times (even to the bathroom) while I was utilizing the pass
But here they have control of 150 ICBM’s and assorted special weapons both on base in the WSA and in the missile complex
They do have robot dogs, remote controlled machine guns & who knows what for anti drone capabilities

Barksdale AFB at Shreveport had multiple drone incursions last week. Sophisticated drones that were impervious to jamming.

Not a drill, this is real world. Another interesting thing, they have been flying Global Hawks along the Mexico border pretty much non-stop for the last few days. They may have been doing it all along but they are doing it in the open now.
Barksdale has no anti-aircraft defenses.
