I just received a suspicious check, allegedly from Humana, for $2.44 for overpayment of a 2023 claim. There's no record in my online Humana account for any such overpayment nor the issuance of a check for $2.44. I strongly suspect this is a scam attempting to gain access to my checking account, therefore I will shred the check rather than cash it.
Keep an eye on your Medicare supplement account, as this scam may involve more than just Humana.

OOps... Today I got a letter from Humana saying they're going to send me a check for $2.44. They were sending the letter ahead of the check (except the check got here 2 days ago) so I wouldn't think it was a scam.

There goes your retirement. I got a check for a lawsuit settlement against Facebook for $2.00. Why freaking bother? It would cost more to drive to bank.
During the great China flu debacle I got a stimulus check from the treasury for $3.08! I think it was a suggestion to buy a rifle in that caliber?
