I shot a turkey out of the air at around 250 yards once with my 7mm. Was walking back toward the trucks after a deer drive, we had a couple of deer down the hill and weren't going to drag them up the hill. When the bird got into the air the 3 of us were standing there for a good 10 seconds before I brought the rifle up and cut one loose. Hit the bird right in the back plate spatchcocked it in mid air. Didn't waste a single bit of the meat. Guys said it was luck, I told them to find another turkey. Wasn't really a difficult shot, it was flying straight away, I mean perfectly straight away. Fricking feathers hung in the air for 10 minutes which was a good thing as it fell into a thick area but the feathers told us where it was. Not like it was going to run after hitting the ground.
