I'm locked in!

A branch fell and blocked my door at 0525, wind is 45 gusting to 65! I can force it a little bit but don't want to go further until dawn so I can see what I'm doing. Good thing I have neighbors I can call on if need be.

The branch that broke is about 6 or 8".

You're lucky it didn't go through your roof (yet). Hope you're able to get it down without any further damage!

It was taken down today with the aid of an excavator. It's more like 12" diameter. Happily, the only damage was a broken vent/skylight cover, about $50 iirc.
Hopefully the rest doesn't come down tonight, wind forecast is gusting to 50. The peak gust at the airport 2 miles away was 72 when this happened.

Winds here have been gusty, up to 79 in town. A full blown train was blown over today as was a few campers and semis. Last count on a weather page had 47 semis/trailers blown over

I saw cowboy state daily reporting 110+gusts somewhere , northern Wyoming, I think.

up to 144 mph winds 

two trains were blown over and last I saw it was up to about 68 semis blown over state wide

We got snow-drifted into our first apartment. I guess I could have forced the screen door, but it was flimsy and I didn’t want to wreck the door. My Dad came and shoveled a big drift of snow away from the door.
