Rant and rave

I've been getting my propane from what used to be a local company. I rented the tank from them for something like $100/year. When I started they were the only company that offered residential delivery.

I purchased a 120 gallon tank from a neighbor when I learned another gas company was doing residential delivery and they're about a buck a gallon cheaper. I called the old company to terminate my service and when he asked why I told him. It turns out they can match the price and they'd like to keep me on. Funny they didn't lower the price earlier, seeing I'm such a "valuable customer". He informed me that I'll be billed $458.00 to remove the rental tank. I told him I'll be HAPPY to pay. (Their yard is about eight miles away, so that cost is COMPLETELY understandable!)
Billing you to take a rental tank back……

Ummmmm no, come geo it ….and I’ve got no idea how it got filled full of water…

Makes no sense. "He informed me that I'll be billed $458.00 to remove the rental tank. I told him I'll be HAPPY to pay. (Their yard is about eight miles away, so that cost is COMPLETELY understandable!)"

I'd be inclined to tell him I can get it hauled to the landfill for nothing, and you can pick it up there.

That was said sarcastically, as in it's worth the cost to get rid of you. The capitalized COMPLETELY is meant as "yeah, suuure".
Unfortunately, I'll have to pay. Even though I don't borrow money, dings on the credit record cause problems.
