My friend from (Rhodesia) always says he believes Cape buffalo to be the most dangerous of the “big five”.
That said, he had a friend that was killed by an elephant. Apparently they checked and checked and the elephant was ‘dead’. So he went to take a picture. First the bull grabbed him with his trunk and pulled him onto his tusk. Then the bull stood up, pushed him off his tusk and trampled him- into oblivion. They found one intact boot with a foot in it, and the rest was just some greasy dirt and sand. The bull died for real a couple miles away. (Dave had hernia surgery and wasn’t on that particular hunt, much to his relief.)
Today’s lesson, boys and girls; never anger a bull elephant.
