Always gets fixed by an excision and draining with a round of antibiotics to follow up or if it has has calcified, just an excision and there is no infection still present.
One month later, Houdini spent a week in critical care with a virus. The docs didn’t think she was going to make it but I didn’t give up on her and she didn’t either. She was diagnosed with Chronic Enteropathy
& Hepatic Lipidosis (Suspected). That was a 15+ grand vet bill. We give her medicine and take her to the vet every 3 months. Our little one, Pumpkinhead , was dying of kidney failure and I had to put her down in 2025. Hardest thing I ever had to do. They were all born with what killed them. I’ll never know the cause of Pumpkin’s sudden death and that bothers me a lot. I’m taking 2.0, our mama cat, to the vet soon. She has a marble size cyst on the base of her tail. She’s the sweetest cat ever. We think she’s between 5 & 6 years old.
How we got her is another story for another time.

Sorry for you loss, we lost our young lab last fall when she got into the trash and ate 1/2 a pizza with oniions and peppers on it. Destroyed her kidneys and there was literally nothing they could do.
The sudden howl and rapid death are indicative of either an aneurysm or a brain stem stroke. Quite literally nothing can be done for either, the first symptom of either is usually rapid death.
