I got lucky!

Since I've lost my sense of smell, I installed a co/explosive gas detector. Tonight it saved me. While I was watching TV the alarm went off. On my way out I turned off the oven pilot light and an unlit burner. Evidently I'd accidentally turned a burner on while cleaning the stove. It took about 15 minutes with the door open to clear out the propane.
I'd strongly advise you all to install these detectors. Both co and propane are heavier than air so mine are mounted about 18" from the floor. Iirc, natural gas is lighter than air.
On the lighter side, I looked really good out in the alley in my fruit of the looms.

I know a guy that left a burner on in an RV and he came out of the shower and flipped is towel and it ignited and flashed over. He lived to tell about it. Scary stuff.
