My little cat PumpkinHead died this morning.





We took her to the CVETS emergency room about 6:30 this morning. Her health conditions took a turn for the worse. We had to put her down to stop her suffering. I’m not done crying yet.

My little Pumpkinhead was only 2.5 years old. She was born with a pancreatic insufficiency which lately morphed into kidney failure. She was my "Little One!" Because my wife and I never had children, to us, our cats ARE our children. Her dying like this today was not helped by the fact that yesterday was the funeral of my best friend of 30+ years. He died of prostate cancer. This has been a very bad year for me so far. Thanks for your empathy and well wishes!

Sorry for your loss...I experienced the same thing several months ago. The time you had with your furry friend is irrelevant as the void they leave in your life, when they pass, is the same.

I have all the photos of my cats since they were born set as the wallpaper on my iMac. I have it set to change the picture randomly everyday when I boot up. Strangely, everyday since Sunday it's been a picture of or with Pumpkinhead in it. The same thing happened when I lost Flash last year. I have to change it after a bit or I'll get my keyboard wet.
