I've never had sweet potatoes before, only candied yams. Tonight I baked some in the oven, about 50 minutes at 425°. Ate them with just butter and DANG, they're good that way!

A branch fell and blocked my door at 0525, wind is 45 gusting to 65! I can force it a little bit but don't want to go further until dawn so I can see what I'm doing. Good thing I have neighbors I can call on if need be.

I had 2 tables at this weekend’s gun show. I had a pretty good show. I sold 5 long guns and 3 handguns.

At the end I was loading up the truck to go home. The parking lot at the fairgrounds is full of broken asphalt piles and holes. I was starting to load my cart in the bed of my truck when my right foot .found one of those holes. I landed first on my arthritic right thumb followed by my lower back and then my upper back.My right calf hit something because it has a charlie horse type pain. If that wasn’t enough, last night my throat got sore and I developed a fever that got to 102. So someone at the show gave me an early Christmas gift. I felt like crap all day and night Monday.My system killed the bug overnight.

Story of my life. It’s a good thing I’m tougher than I look.

So, my son is kinda disappointed with his Henry lever .44 mag lever gun. It won’t group accurately and the action jams. He’s getting rid of it. This season he borrowed my daughter’s CVA Cascade 350 Legend and he loves it.

I told him I’d support getting g rid of the levergun if we replace it with a revolver for deer hunting. A Taurus is under $1k and a Smith or a Ruger is well over $1k. Will the Taurus be Ok? I want 7-9” barrel. Full lug is better. Scope mount dovetails preferred.
