My best friend Al died tonight.

His wife just called me. He went back in the hospital Tuesday, got worse and died a short while ago.
I’ll never have another friend like him.

My heartfelt condolences to you Terry. My best friend isn't currently suffering a malingering disease but has the start of one. He's had a few powerful strokes and is currently having many Tia's so he could check out at any time. I told him if he dies on me I'm going to be mad at him.

Soon after the funeral I'll be helping his wife with the probate and selling his large gun collection, knife collection, bayonet collection, Amber collection.........!

That sucks. I've been there before. My best friend of 35 yrs passed away a couple yrs ago. We basically grew up together. It was a gut punch, for sure.

Really sorry for your loss, prayers for both you and his family

The funeral is Saturday. After that, I'm getting together with his wife to help her start planning the probate and to see the true extent of his collections/accumulations. She says it's much more than even I know. Luckily, in SC, we have time. The will must be filed with the probate court within 30 days of death. The petition to open the estate for probate must be filed within 10 years. Al had a son from a relationship before he met his wife that he didn't know about until a couple of years ago. The guy is 55, no job, no money and he's trying to take over the estate. I will deal with him.
