<p><strong>WASHINGTON, D.C. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">(July 1, 2025) – Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) today issued the following statement in response to the Senate’s release of reconciliation language in the “One Big Beautiful Bill”:</span></p>
As some of you know, I've lost interest in firearms. The situation over on Canfield Mountain Sunday changed that and I renewed my membership at the rifle club. Over here there are few public shooting areas and what remain are off limits during fire season so it's the club or nothing.
I still carry but I consider a handgun to be almost useless, at least in my hands, I really suck with them. My Mossberg is always loaded with #4 buck but I'm much more comfortable with a carbine. When was the last time I checked my zero on one, 2 years? Yesterday I dusted off a suitable upper, actually dusted it off as it was on there thick. Today I'll do a real clean and lube as well as put together a range bag. Then I'll dig out my notes and load a couple hundred 52gr Berger hps. I've got quite a few 60gr gold dots but they're a bit robust for use in town.
Anyway, a carbine I'm not confident with is just more clutter and it's time to de-clutter a bit.
[FPC News] FPC Brief: California’s Age-Based Firearms Ban Is Unconstitutional
<p><strong>SAN FRANCISCO </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">(</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">June 30, 2025</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">) – Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced that the organization has commenced appellate briefing at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in </span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Poway Weapons & Gear v. California Attorney General Rob Bonta</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;">, FPC’s challenge to California’s ban on firearm purchases by adults under the age of 21.</span></p>
I got the estimates from Burgin roofing today. He inspected the roof and the only damage he found was where the leak is. He said my roof is in pretty good condition should last another year at least after the repairs. The repair will cost 500 bucks. That I can handle. The quote for the roof replacement is $11.877.00! I’m going to have it repaired and start stashing away cash for the new roof. It should last at least 2-3 years more after the repair. The other roofer I had look at it 2 years ago also estimated 1 more year. They did the roof right when they built this house in 2003. This takes a load off my mind.
