I guess this could go in shotgun forum, but, it’s ammo not a gun.

So, tomorrow morning my son and daughter-in-law will be piloting a new ammo for us. I won’t be going duck hunting until Sunday (I don’t like to miss too many Sundays for hunting, but the season is only so long. Tomorrow is Cranberry Festival and I promised to take my wife. So, the ducks will have to wait another day to experience my charming attentions.)

One of my frustrations with steel for waterfowl is that I’m convinced it just doesn’t kill as effectively as lead. Other non-toxics are better but VERY pricey. So, you end up going with  bigger shot… but then there are so many fewer per load…

So, I found these:



They look interesting and the research says they’re very effective. They’re a duplex of two shot sizes.

 
The 3 1/2” 12 ga really slap. Sometimes I wonder if i’m getting whacked as bad as the ducks. I guess we will find out if these are effective.

Since you're our resident H&R 32 magnum expert, I have some questions. My thumb joint arthritis is not getting any better. While I can still handle full power 38spl;, it's no longer fun. I know you've recently switched to the 32 and would like to hear your experiences, opinions and recommendations. What have you learned of it's effectiveness against actual bad guys? What non boutique ammo would you recommend? Anything else that would be useful for me to know in making a decision on whether to switch.

I see a Fox News poll that has Mamdani leading by 18 points.  What lunacy! I predict an exodus by those that have the means, you know, the producers. I wonder how long it'll be before houses there will be able to be purchased for $100 like Detroit?

A few days after we lost Pumpkinhead we had to take Houdini into the vet. She’s the one we almost lost last year. She has: 1. Chronic Enteropathy & 2. Hepatic Lipidosis (Suspected). It’s been under good control up to now. She got worse and they’re not sure what’s causing it. They gave her some more meds and she’s doing better but not 100% yet. As if that wasn’t enough, we’re going to have to take our big tabby Pumpkin to the vet asap! He’s not eaten in 2 days, he’s not as active as normal and we haven’t seen him poop. We think he may have an intestinal blockage. I’m waiting to hear back from the vet as to when she can see him.

Big box of gun goodies!

Some of this stuff is used and some is new / unused. The holster, reloading stuff, bipod and Warne scope rings are new / unused. Ignore the price tags on the reloading stuff. Those have been on my gun show table.
