<p><strong>WASHINGTON, D.C.</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> (June 27, 2025) — Today, Firearms Policy Coalition issued the following statement in response to reports that the Senate Parliamentarian has advised that key pro-liberty provisions in the Republican reconciliation package would be subject to a 60-vote threshold under the Byrd Rule, essentially striking them from the Senate’s version of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” unless the Senate overrules her:</span></p>
Like many enforcement tools it seemed like a good idea but has been abused. I worried about it when I routinely carried 10k or more in my truck for expenses. One dept, (iirc, Park City Utah) even paid officers a commission based on seizures.
